  • Erin Holt is the Founder of Fine Tuned Communications, a consulting firm specializing in storytelling for organizations. An award-winning communications professional, Erin has worked in TV news, PR, and education. Her clients have been featured in major outlets like The New York Times and NPR. Erin holds a degree in Communications and English from Vanderbilt University and will be moderating the panel at this event.

  • Joe Gomez is a Nashville-based filmmaker and writer whose work includes documentaries, short films, and commercial projects. He recently completed Room to Play, a documentary about the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra, supported by a Tennessee Arts Commission grant. Joe and his wife Vanita Joines run Cerulean, a film production studio in Nashville. Learn more at joegomez.net.

  • Jarod Wilson Hamm is a Nashville-based graphic designer focused on nonprofit organizations. His work spans branding, exhibits, and publications, with projects in multiple countries. He serves as the Associate Creative Director at Thrive, Inc., where he develops brand strategies for rural communities, and consults for organizations like Epicenter and Rebuilding Together Nashville. 

  • Christopher Norton is the Music Director and Conductor of the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra, a role he’s held since 2008. He has guest-conducted for the Nashville Symphony, Alabama Symphony, and others across the Southeast. A dedicated educator, Dr. Norton is a Professor of Music at Belmont University, specializing in Percussion Studies. He holds a doctorate from Louisiana State University and degrees from the Eastman School of Music.

  • Yurina Yoshikawa is the Director of Education at The Porch, a literary nonprofit in Nashville. Her writing has appeared in The Atlantic, NPR, Lit Hub, and The Japan Times. Yurina holds an M.F.A. from Columbia University and has been recognized with awards from the Tennessee Arts Commission and South Arts. She was the winner of the 2020 Tennessee True Stories Contest. The members of the Philharmonic, alongside supporting artists, will demonstrate the innovative approaches they have used to connect with audience members post-COVID.

From graphic design to a newly commissioned piece by a contemporary American composer, documentary filmmaking, and creative writing, you’ll not only witness, but engage in short exercises that will simulate the Philharmonic’s design process.
