  • Lending leadership expertise from transit systems both large and small, Steve views his primary purpose as chief executive officer of WeGo Public Transit to be a steadfast steward of the greater Nashville community. Steve believes providing safe and efficient transit is an essential public service for growing cities and is committed to ensuring WeGo’s service continues to rise at every level. 

  • Photographer, Filmmaker & Visual Artist - LeXander Bryant (b. 1989) is a photographer and visual artist based in Nashville, TN. As his craft continued to sharpen, he has always returned to his muse, the black community, particularly those residing in the South. Through his images, he is able to reflect not only on his personal life and see a piece of himself within the images, but he also creates a conversation around the most important issues that we as a society face today. His work is honest, relatable, and communal allowing those who interact with it to feel like they can understand the world better. 

  • For more than 25 years, Hunter has committed his career to building great communities and buildings. In addition to his work as an architect, Hunter has served as the Chairman for Nashville’s Urban Land Institute, as President of the Board for the Nashville Civic Design Center, and as a Metro Planning and Historic Zoning Commissioner. Hunter’s been principal-in-charge of workforce and affordable housing projects including Nashville’s largest public housing redevelopment, Envision Cayce, and the Ryman Lofts, Nashville’s only affordable housing reserved exclusively for artists. 

  • With ambition and sensitivity to design, Kristen pursues every project as a new challenge to create architecture that is of its place and for the communities they serve. Her belief that every person, rich or poor, deserves a place of dignity and beauty ensures that the end results of a project will be long lasting. 

  • Kia Lewis joined WeGo three years ago and has been managing several high-profile projects, including the construction of the Dr. Ernest Rip Patton Jr. North Nashville Transit Center and the renaming of the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center at WeGo Central. She previously served as Project Manager, Development and Engineering and has strong leadership skills that brought this project to fruition.

  • A principal at Hawkins Partners Inc. - Will is a supporter of alternative/public transportation, Marth serves as a mentor for Preston Taylor Ministries, a volunteer at YCAP and a committee member of Walk Bike Nashville’s Tour de Nash.

  • Son of Dr. Ernest Rip Patton Jr. - Michael Patton is the son of freedom Rider and Civil Rights Advocate Ernst Rip Patton Jr. Michael continues his fathers legacy of activism and fighting for equality and justice for people of color.

  • Professor of African American History at Tennessee State University - Learotha Williams, Jr.,is a scholar of African American, Civil War and Reconstruction, and Public History at Tennessee State University. Williams has worked as a Historic Sites Specialist for the State of Florida, acted as coordinator for the African American Studies Program at Armstrong Atlantic State University, and served as trustee of the Historic Savannah Foundation in Savannah, Georgia. He also spearheads the North Nashville Heritage Project, an effort that seeks to encourage a greater understanding of the history of North Nashville, including but not limited to Jefferson Street and its historic relationship to the greater Nashville community.

  • Murals, Portraits, Works on Canvas, Illustration, Graphic Design, Artistic Direction - Jamal Jenkins, known artistically as Woke3, is a melanated muralist and mixed-media artist from Norf Nashville. Woke3 has a special gift: he has the ability to make people feel connected, appreciated, respected, and completely submerged in his art works. His works are greatly praised by the community for being inclusive, diverse, and having the ability to show how no one thing is greater than another, expressing his heart for a more equitable world for all.
